Pierce and I were in the car a few weeks ago and we were listening to some John Lennon on my iPod. When the song we were listening to was over and the next began, Pierce said, “I don’t like this one”. So I said, “Ok well what do you want to hear?”. Pierce responded, “How about ‘Jingle Bells’?”. “Oh you like ‘Jingle Bells’?” I asked him. “Yeah” he responded, “It’s my favorite.”

Where does he get this stuff?

Shrek

Monday, January 28th, 2008

According to Pierce I am Shrek. Mommy is Princess Fiona (pronounced Foona) and he is Donkey. At the beach (where Mimi has a Nacho Libre mask) he puts on the mask and he becomes Spiderman (pronounced Fighterman). He will run up to you and growl/hiss like Venom with his hands in the air like claws. Then when you scream he will slowly take of the mask to reveal that he is in fact, merely Pierce.

My Friends

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Louisa gave Pierce these cool hand puppets from Turkey. They are pretty funny looking with long robes and fez hats and big black yarn moustaches. Pierce liked them from the minute he saw them, but recently he’s gotten very attached to them. He has named them. They are named Apple and Diaper. And he refers to them as “my friends”. He’ll come up to me and say, “Dad, where are my friends, Apple and Diaper?” I’ll get them out and put them on and he completely ignores me and starts talking to them and getting them to help him do stuff like carry his sippy cup. “Come on friends, let’s go play with my toys” he’ll state. And the 4 of us head to his room. It’s hilarious. He also has a little chicken that’s made out of this crinkly fabric that is really sort of a baby toy but it’s just the size for his hand to go in it so it has become the third friend in the mix. It’s name is PJs or sometimes just PJ. He like to name his friends after objects found around the house evidently.

New Year

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Well once again I’ve not updated in years. I’m not going to bore you all with some drawn out re-cap though. Let’s just say that we’ve had a very exciting time since Halloween. Thanksgiving was great, Christmas was super exciting (Pierce is a certified Santa superfan) and so far the new year is going great. There are tons of new pictures over on my Flickr page from all above mentioned holidays so go check them out. The most recent are pictures from the big snow we had a couple of weeks ago. We had so many snowballs and cups of hot chocolate, it was the best.
